Although we have never met you
Our Grandparents
Isidor Katz and Hilda (Ransenberg) Katz
From Watzenborn-Steinberg and Allendorf, Germany
We remember not that
You Lived
And were killed,
But
We remember how
You courageously sent your children away
On a train, over a border,
At night, alone
Into what may have been sanctuary
Or not
Never knowing what had become of them
It was 1939,
It is 2015, We remember how
Your act of courage
Has made our lives possible today,
You have children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren
And we do remember you.
